Duitse kleurentv's. Hoe vind ik er ééntje?

Ik herinner me nu ook een toestel met C5000-chassis (thyristorafbuiging, bj ongeveer 1977) waar een Vendomatic gebruiksaanwijzing bij zat. Dom genoeg heb ik dat toestel destijds gesloopt.

Maargoed de oudere modellen... Vroeg of laat loop je natuurlijk wel eens ergens tegenaan, maar het kan inderdaad raadzaam zijn om in Duitsland te gaan zoeken. Hebben ze daar ook geen vlooienmarkten o.i.d.?

Ik weet ook nog wel dat in de 110 Graden tijd V & D Loewe kleurentv's verkocht onder hun eiegen merknaam Vendomatic.

Roland, maybe something to do for a next visit Have a close look at your Kuba. I have seen a few Kuba's in real life, all with Imperial chassis (the histories of those companies are somewhat interwoven). Best guess without looking is, that the Portacolor has an Imperial chassis as well.

Back on topic: Ik ben er redelijk zeker van dat Loewe een aantal kleuren-hybrides van eigen ontwerp in het assortiment heeft gehad. Op zolder ligt nog een grote stapel documentatie om door te werken....

This Kuba has a completely different chassis than the GE versions.
GE uses compactron tubes. The Kuba set uses european noval tubes
like EF183, PL500 and so on...

You can compare the set to this one. spot the differences...

And indeed, it's a PAL wannabe Pal with the known NTSC problems...

But I've got no idea how to find out where these were build.
Only the topicstarter asked for German sets... And he has not much space.
So I thought this is a nice one. And I'm sure there should be a
lot more hidden in the attics somewhere.

And if you want the first German colour set try to find a Telefunken 708T.
It seems there are more colour collectors in Germany than in Holland.

Unfortunately the prices on ebay can be absurd. Ingredients for it:

a good source to find old german line output transformators is indeed ebay.de
The keyword is "Zeilentrafo" or also sometimes "Zeilentransformator"

The Kuba Portacolor's are VERY rare, I remember having seen one in ebay.de two, three years ago under
Sammeln, Technik, TV. It was sold for something like € 300.-, 400.- !!!
Unreal price, and the set did NOT look very healthy.
Though they were branded KUBA, they were produced in the USA by GE, the company KUBA belonged to General Electric from the mid-sixties. So an american tv with very little adaptions for the european market, it didn't even have a PAL decoder, but only a simple PAL, practicly a slightly modified NTSC decoder.
Anyway, these sets are cool !

Mocht zo'n Kuba Porta color mijn pad eens kruisen houd ik me steeds aanbevolen hoor

Ik heb net Marcel Van Grinsven z'n site nog eens bekeken, als ik zie hoeveel kleurentoestellen die uit de oude doos heeft staan... Ze moeten dus toch nog bestaan hé, die man moet ze toch ook van ergens hebben...
In alle geval, ebay.de staat al bij m'n favorieten :thumbsup:
